The Green Industry Platform, as one of the concrete outcomes of Rio+20, is exemplary of the public-private partnerships that are needed to scale up and mainstream the greening of industrial development. It also provides a blueprint for how the United Nations could improve its effectiveness in partnering with private sector stakeholders in the achievement of concrete development goals. This presentation will inform about the objectives and achievements of the Green Industry Platform and its linkages to development needs and aspirations in middle-income countries.
