From 16 – 17 May 2013 a Regional Conference entitled “The Middle-Income Countries Perspective on Sustainable Development in CIS, Eastern and Southern Europe” will take place in Minsk. The conference is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus in partnership with the United Nations Country Team.
The objective of the conference is to point out sustainable development challenges experienced by the above countries- all of which can be considered to be middle-income countries. Also, the conference aims to display common approaches to rise to the current challenges while focusing at an implementation at the United Nations’ level. Furthermore, the conference should serve as additional contribution to the ongoing processes of creating a post- 2015 development agenda.
