On 13 May 2013 a Regional Preparatory Meeting on the Latin American and Caribbean Region took place in Mexico. The main objective of the one-day preparatory meeting was to offer additional information on region-specific development challenges in view of the various multifaceted needs of middle-income countries.
Panelists discussed the various challenges that middle-income countries are facing. Furthermore, participants were presented general information on UNIDO and its work related to Mexico as well as its Networks for Prosperity initiative. Participants were further offered an overview of the upcoming preparatory meetings and the High-Level Conference itself.
